The Pittsburg Pirates pulled the trigger and traded for A J Burnett. The financial restraint were lifted in the sum of nearly $20 million by the New York Yankees leaving $13 Million for the Pittsburg Pirates. The Pirates added two minor leaguers, right hander Diego Moreno and outfielder Exicardo Cayones both lower level prospects to the deal.
A J Burnett had a rough go in the three years, an .493 winning percentage with the Yankees and will be looking to rebound his career in the National League.
