Baseball Babe #103 Yoenis Cespedes Oakland Athletics League Leading 2 Home Runs was Mammoth 462 ft

The Oakland Coliseum and Seattle Mariners Jason Vargas had nothing on Cuban defector Yoenis Cespedes and the swing of the bat that produced a missile that landed in the upper deck at 462 feet.
Trailing 5-0 to the Seattle Mariners the 2 run launch was a bright spot for the Oakland Athletics who eventually lost 7-3 opening back home in the United States from Tokyo, Japan. I guess the plane flight didn't crush his style.
I guess he is making a statement to the MLB that his highlight video he produced was no fluke he is the real deal.

Baseball Babe #94 Honors Bartolo Colon Oakland Athletics 1st win of 2012 in Tokyo, Japan.

The premature opening series of the 2012 MLB season between the A's and Mariners was tied up with a win 4-1 by the great pitching effort of Bartolo Colon. His first win since July 30th last year was a great start for him and the Oakland Athletics. Colon threw eight solid innings giving up a solo shot in the seventh inning to Seattle Mariners first baseman  Justin Smoak. Colon had a line of 8IP, 3H, 1R, 1ER, 1BB, 6K and an ERA of 1.12 and will hope to keep that as momentum when coming back to the States.
To help Colon a home run barrage by Jonny Gomes, Yoenis Cespedes, and Josh Reddick gave him the offense that sealed the win.

Baseball Babe #83 honors Yoenis Cespedes Oakland Athletics homers in MLB spring training debut

The cuban defector and ultra hyped new millionaire Oakland Athletics new outfielder Yoenis Cespedes had his MLB debut spring training game. Cespedes went 2 for 2 with a solo home run off Jeff Francis and a single off Josh Donaldson that drove in a run giving him 2 rbi's for the game against the Cincinnati Reds. He also showed patience at the plate drawing a walk in his first at bat against major league pitcher Johnny Cueto.
With only 6,644 fans in attendance he has to keep the world waiting on his talents to hit the stadiums that may see 50,000 and more!

Baseball Babe #78 Honors Manny Ramirez Minor League Signing with Oakland A's

The Oakland Athletics dipped into the well and with little investment and minimal risk are taking their chances with Manny Ramirez.
Manny coming off of his reduced to 50 games suspension this season for an illegal drug failed test signed a minor league contract with A's for a prorated $500,000. The amount will be more like $300,000 under the league minimum after the suspension. Very cheap if Manny makes it back to the big show.
Could we find Manny Ramirez wearing a Triple AAA  Sacramento River Rats logo and fizzle away or in an Oakland A's uniform?
Will "Manny being Manny" effect the young talent such as Yoennis Cespedes positively or negatively? If the bat is there he can surely show the kids how to hit!
