Oregon Ducks 2010-2011 Tostitos BCS National Championship Game

2010 Tostitos BCS National Championship Contender
Oregon Ducks

Let the feathers fly!! The 12 -0 Oregon Ducks are flying into Glendale, Arizona into the Fiesta Bowl to take on the Auburn Tigers. The high energy ducks will try and take that waddle into gear and try and run all over the Tigers. What players will show up and put their hearts on the turf? Let's take a look at a few:

Coaching

Head Coach Chip Kelly: The second year head coach put a team together of players that love to score. The 2010 season Ducks scored 42 or more 10 times only missing that mark twice. A talented team that LOVES to run and run often they do. The coach/offensive coordinator earned some much deserved awards along the way to this years bowl with many more to come.
Offense

Running Back LaMichael James: When talking speed and elusiveness this is the man. Only a sophmore this back is for real. Stats of a Pac-10 sophmore record 1682 yrds rushing and 21 td's and 169 yards receiving with a lone touchdown showed the nation that this Duck can run. A smaller back at 5'9" and 185 pounds he can just explode threw the hole and he puts on the afterburners and boom he is in the endzone celebrating! He did slow down to grab some awards! Next year will see even more!
Quarterback Darron Thomas: Another sophmore earning his wings, and this one can run too. But, passing is for quarterbacks and this efficient one did that too. Stats of 2518 passing yrds and 28 td's (9th in the nation) along with the 492 yards rushing and 5 td's puts him in a threat to do either. He will be looking to take what ever advantage he can on the Tigers. Stiff competition in the awards for quarterbacks and being a sophmore will leave him hunger for next here, but he did get some mention!
Receiver Jeff Maehl: Darron's prime target for the touchdown pass. Speedy senior (4.77 40-yrd dash) Jeff found the endzone 12 times with a total of 943 yrds receiving. He set a school record of 9 straight games with a touchdown.
Receiver/Kick Returner Josh Huff: Gotta name another Texas born player! The freshman the only one to play in 2010 for the ducks is a threat to take it to the house. With 532 kick return yards without a touchdown he is primed for one! He is a triple threat with 303 receiving yrds 3 td's and 214 rushing 2 td's this freshman is scary!

 Defense

Linebacker Casey Mathews: 73 tackles 33 solo, 3 sacks and 3 interceptions.
Linebacker Spencer Paysinger: 68 tackles 42 solo and 3 sacks.
Cornerback Talmadge Jackson III: 67 tackles 43 solo and 2 interceptions.
Free Safety John Boyett 67 tackles 42 solo, and 5 interceptions.
These men will try and stop the Auburn offense and Cam Newton. They will need a few of those sacks to disrupt the Heisman Trophy winner to become winners themselves.
