Saturday Morning Chatter: Tiger Woods Jimmer Fredette Maya Moore

Tiger Woods
Tiger Woods: Shoots a 66 in round two of The Masters pulling him up the leader board and tied for 3rd overall with a score of 137 and 3 shots of the lead. It started out a lot like day one, but after the first few holes he put it together and the climbing started. Are we seeing a comeback? Will he win another major and get one step closer to Jack Nicklaus? Third round starts at 11:00am today with Tiger teeing off at 2:35pm. with KJ Choi. They will be followed by leader Rory Mcllory and 2nd place Jason Day both are young and hungry to wear the green jacket.

Jimmer Fredette
Jimmer Fredette: The John Wooden Award for the player of the year was awarded to Jimmer Fredette of BYU. He broke the all time scoring record of 2,599 points previously held by Danny Ainge which also won the Wooden Award back in 1981. The competition was tough Kemba Walker of the national champion UConn Huskies and Jared Sullinger of Ohio State were two and three in the polls. Will we see him in the NBA next season? Congrats Jimmer let the "Jimmermania" continue!
Maya Moore

Maya Moore: Well, she did UConn Huskies a one ups and did it again she won the John Wooden Award for the best women's college basketball player for the second time! She was one of three to win the award twice Candace Parker of Tennessee and LSU's Seimone Augustus both also won it twice. Here is a few other alcolades she was a four time all-american, 2-time National Champion, all time leading scorer in Huskies history 3,036 points and the center piece of their record 90 game win streak. Clearly showing why she wins the award. Her closest competition was 2nd place Britney Griner of the Baylor Bears and Courtney Vandersloot of Gonzaga. As a senior one can only imagine the loss of such a great player will be to a UConn team and Coach Geno Auriemma. Thanks for the great run and congrats Maya!
